Generally, diabetes can be considered a disability under the Social Security Administration’s endocrine conditions category. This is primarily because diabetes may qualify for disability benefits if it meets the SSA’s strict definition of disability and the symptoms, such as hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia, impede normal daily activities and the ability to work.
