How do states across the U.S. compare when it comes to the gender and different ethnicities of their medical staff? Take a look at the graphic below to find out which states are home to the most female physicians, and what the breakdown of ethnicity looks like across the country.

Methodology: We’ve looked at the number of professionally active Physicians by gender as well as the diversity in medicine from 2019 across the United States, in order to show the overall landscape of medical physicians. Data includes currently active allopathic physicians (MDs) and osteopathic physicians (DOs). Percentages may not sum to totals due to rounding. Data pulled July 2020.
