We’re standing by to help SingleCare customers

In the SingleCare Spotlight series, we highlight the people who make SingleCare possible. Whether they work to secure the best savings possible with our partner pharmacies or help send you cards through the mail, every employee at our company is focused on helping you save money on prescription medication.

I’ve worked in call centers for nearly 25 years, and I love working in that type of environment. I’ve been based in New York, North Carolina, and now Florida with SingleCare. Every day, I’m standing by for incoming phone calls with questions from our customers and partner pharmacies. People request help with all sorts of things, but it’s mostly related to cost.

“How much will my medication cost with the discount card?” 

“Which pharmacies can I use the savings card at?” 

“Can I save 80% on my medication?” 

Those questions make up most of my day, but I also assist pharmacists with processing prescriptions if there’s an issue. My first love is helping people on the phone and trying to work through whatever their situation is when they call in.

A lot of people struggle to afford their medications. They’re on a fixed income of $1,100 or $1,200 a month. Then, their healthcare provider prescribes a medication that costs $400. If they haven’t met their deductible or are in the Medicare coverage gap, that hurts. SingleCare provides an alternative. It’s really nice to be able to help someone who truly needs assistance. 

And working at SingleCare has changed my life, too. My parents are getting older. I have grandkids. It’s made my wife and I realize how important it is to take steps now to stay healthy—like exercising, getting enough rest, and taking vitamins—and if we do need prescriptions, my wife has a card, my parents have a card, and even I have used the SingleCare card.

What we do really makes a difference in people’s lives. We interact with thousands of customers a day. Knowing that I can tell them that the help they need is here, and just trying to give them a great experience, is what drives me to wake up every day, go to work, and punch in.
