This FDA-approved medication is used as a treatment for various types of cancer. It is used to treat patients with primary and metastatic brain tumors, following appropriate surgical and radiotherapeutic procedures. Gleostine belongs to a class of drugs known as alkylating agents and works by slowing or stopping the growth of cancer cells.
This medication is available in the form of an oral capsule. Take this medication by mouth as a single dose or as directed by your doctor, once every six weeks. Your dose may comprise two or more different capsules. To prevent nausea, take this medication on an empty stomach at least one hour before or two hours after a meal. Your doctor will recommend an appropriate dose for you based on an assessment of your current medical condition, other drugs you are currently taking, and your response to treatment.
