What is Marplan?

Marplan is a prescription antidepressant that relieves depression, a psychiatric disorder involving long-term sadness, hopelessness, loss of energy, guilt, and loss of interest in daily activities.

One cause of depression is a breakdown of nerve signals in the areas of the brain that control mood. The active ingredient in Marplan, isocarboxazid, works by rebalancing certain chemicals that pass signals in the brain.
