Oralair is a brand-name prescription drug used to relieve the symptoms of grass pollen allergies by continually exposing the immune system to grass pollens before the start of pollen season, called immunotherapy. This type of therapy is fairly common in the treatment of allergies, either through the use of injections or sublingual tablets.
The active ingredients in Oralair are grass pollens: Timothy, Kentucky Blue Grass, Sweet Vernal, Orchard, and Perennial Rye.
Oralair is taken daily as a sublingual tablet from four weeks before the start of the pollen season to the end of the pollen season. An Oralair tablet is placed under the tongue for at least 1 minute and allowed to completely dissolve before swallowing. To avoid allergens being ingested, food should not be eaten for at least five minutes after the tablet dissolves. The patient should also wash their hands after handling Oralair.
The first dose will always be administered under the close watch of a physician in case of severe or life-threatening allergic reactions. Patients will also be prescribed injectable epinephrine while taking Oralair for emergency self-injection in case of severe allergic reactions to Oralair.

So the most common side effects of Oralair are allergic reactions to its ingredients. These allergic reactions could be severe and life-threatening, including the inability to breathe and anaphylaxis. Patients taking Oralair should have allergy medications at hand such as antihistamines and an epinephrine pen injector in case of severe allergic reactions.
