Testopel is used for testosterone replacement therapy in men who have a deficiency or absence of natural testosterone. Specifically, Testopel is indicated to treat primary hypogonadism and hypogonadotropic hypogonadism. Testosterone is the chief male hormone and an anabolic steroid. In men, testosterone plays a key role in processes such as male reproductive organ development, muscle size and bone mass, and the growth of body hair. Testosterone injections are also used in women with breast cancer that has spread to other parts of the body.
This prescription drug should not be used by pregnant women or women that plan to become pregnant. Testopel can cause birth defects if a pregnant woman comes in contact with this drug. Make sure your doctor knows if your sexual partner is pregnant. If a pregnancy occurs while you are using this medicine, tell your doctor immediately. Testopel should not be used by men with breast or prostate cancer.
