What is Xdemvy used for?
XDEMVY is FDA-approved to treat Demodex blepharitis. Demodex blepharitis is a common eye condition caused by a type of parasite called Demodex mites. Demodex mites are parasites commonly found on human skin. Signs and symptoms of Demodex blepharitis include eyelid redness, irritation, swelling, and misdirected eyelashes as well as the presence of eyelash collarettes, a type of dandruff that includes cells, mite eggs, and mite waste. Demodex blepharitis can cause irritation, eyelash distension or loss, and swelling, which can be uncomfortable. Demodex blepharitis should only be diagnosed and treated by an eye care professional.

What are common Xdemvy doses?
To treat Demodex blepharitis, the adult dose of XDEMVY is one drop in each eye twice a day (about 12 hours apart) for six weeks.
XDEMVY is not approved for use in children and adolescents younger than 18 years old.

How to take Xdemvy
The dose of XDEMVY is one drop in each eye twice a day, about 12 hours apart, for six weeks.
Remove contact lenses before putting in XDEMVY eye drops. You can put your contact lenses back in 15 minutes after you put in the eye drops.
If you are using other eye medications, wait at least five minutes between using XDEMVY and any other eye medications.
Use caution not to contaminate the tip of the bottle, as doing so could lead to damage to the eye and vision loss.
While using XDEMVY, you may experience eye stinging and burning. If side effects are severe, consult your physician for medical advice.
What to do if you miss a dose of Xdemvy
If you miss a dose of XDEMVY, skip the missed dose.
Resume treatment with the next scheduled dose.

Xdemvy warnings
Contaminated XDEMVY solution can cause serious eye damage, including vision loss. Take care not to allow the tip of the dispensing container to come into contact with the eye (or around the eye), fingers, or any other surfaces. This will help minimize the chance of contamination.
XDEMVY contains a chemical additive called potassium sorbate that can discolor soft contact lenses. Remove contact lenses before putting XDEMVY eye drops in. Wait at least 15 minutes after putting your eye drops in before you reinsert contact lenses.
Call your healthcare provider right away for advice on the continued use of XDEMVY if:
You develop any other eye condition during treatment with XDEMVY (such as trauma to the eye or an eye infection)
You are having eye surgery
You have any eye reactions (like pink eye) or eyelid reactions
Xdemvy interactions
XDEMVY does not have any listed drug interactions.
However, you should always tell your healthcare provider about all the medications you take, including prescription and over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, and supplements.
If you are using any other medications in your eye, wait at least five minutes between using XDEMVY and using any other medications in the eye.
Xdemvy side effects
Common ocular adverse reactions of XDEMVY, occurring in about 10% of patients, include ocular irritation, such as:
Eye stinging
Eye burning
Less common side effects, which occur in less than 2% of people who take XDEMVY, include:
Chalazion/hordeolum (styes)
Punctate keratitis (corneal inflammation and damage)
