What is Apraclonidine used for?
Iopidine is a prescription medicine used along with other medications to treat glaucoma. It comes in the form of ophthalmic drops. It works by reducing the amount of fluid within the eye resulting in a decrease of the amount of pressure inside the eye. It is used on a short term basis to help delay or prevent the need for eye surgery.

How to take Apraclonidine
You will receive this medicine as an eyedrop 1 hour before and right after your eye surgery.

Apraclonidine contraindications
This medicine is not right for everyone. Do not use it if you had an allergic reaction to apraclonidine or clonidine.
Apraclonidine warnings
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease, high blood pressure, heart or blood vessel disease (including Raynaud disease, thromboangiitis obliterans), or a history of heart attack or stroke.
This medicine may make you dizzy or drowsy. Do not drive or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how this medicine affects you.
Your doctor will check your progress and the effects of this medicine at regular visits. Keep all appointments.
