Edluar is a sedative used to treat people with sleep problems such as insomnia. Edluar is used for the short treatment of insomnia where individuals are finding it hard to fall asleep when they first go to bed. It is a sublingual tablet (dissolve under the tongue) taken orally before bed. Edluar is a class four (C-IV) federally controlled substance because it can be abused or lead to dependence and should only be taken following your doctor's order.
Edluar is not approved for use by anyone younger than 18 years old. Be sure to tell your doctor if you have ever suffered from depression, mental illness or suicidal thoughts, drug or alcohol addiction, lung disease, sleep apnea (breathing stops during sleep or liver and kidney disease to make sure this medication is safe for you. Take Edluar in the last 3 months of pregnancy may cause drowsiness or breathing problems in your newborn. Do not use while breastfeeding. Ask your doctor about any risks.
The recommended doses of Edluar are not the same in men and women, and this drug is not approved for use in children. Do not share this medication with another person, even if they have the same symptoms you have. Never take Edluar if you do not have a full 7 to 8 hours to sleep before being active again. Tell your doctor if your insomnia symptoms do not improve, or if they get worse after using this medication for 7 to 10 nights in a row. Common side effects that may occur when taking Edluar may include daytime drowsiness, dizziness, weakness or feeling drugged, loss of coordination, sleepwalking, memory loss, stuffy nose or dry mouth, nausea, constipation, headaches, myasthenia gravis (a muscle disease) and muscle pain. If you begin to experience signs of an allergic reaction such as hives, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, contact your doctor immediately for medical advice.
