What is Emend?

Emend is used together with other drugs to treat nausea and vomiting that happen due to chemotherapy or surgery. Emend belongs to the NK1 receptor antagonists drug class and works by blocking the action of a chemical in the nervous system that causes nausea and vomiting. 

Tell your doctor about all of your medical conditions and medical history. Be sure to tell your doctor if you have liver disease as you may need a dosage adjustment or special tests. 

Tell your doctor about all the medications you take, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines, and vitamins or supplements. If you are currently taking Pimozide, then you should not use Emend, as serious drug interactions may occur when these two drugs are used together.
