What is Felbamate?

Felbamate is a generic prescription drug that controls particular types of seizures in patients with epilepsy, a nervous system disorder characterized by recurrent seizures, or Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a severe form of epilepsy typically in children. Because of the potential for hazardous and life-threatening side effects, Felbamate is only used when other treatments have not succeeded.

Felbamate belongs to a class of drugs called anticonvulsants.
