Although this medication can be used by children, their dosage will be based on their weight.
Do not use Methimazole if you are allergic to it or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Before taking Methimazole, tell your doctor about any other medical conditions you may have, especially if you have liver disease, a blood cell disorder, or a weakened immune system. If you are pregnant or become pregnant while taking Methimazole you should tell your doctor immediately as this medication can harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor about all the medications you are taking, including all prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines, and supplements.
You should only use Methimazole as prescribed by your doctor. Methimazole is usually taken three times daily. Methimazole can also lower your body's ability to fight infections and your blood's ability to clot.
