Ninjacof is an over-the-counter combination cold medicine used to relieve symptoms of the common cold, hay fever, and upper respiratory tract allergies. Ninjacof combines two drugs: chlophedianol, a cough suppressant, and pyrilamine, an antihistamine. Ninjacof is safe enough to use without a prescription but has several warnings and drug interactions that consumers should be aware of before taking this medicine.

What are common Ninjacof doses?
For relief of cold or upper respiratory tract allergies:
In adults and children 12 years of age and older: 2 teaspoons (10 mL) every 6–8 hours to a maximum of 8 teaspoons every 24 hours
In children 6–12 years old: 1 teaspoon (5 mL) every 6–8 hours to a maximum of 4 teaspoons every 24 hours

How to take Ninjacof
Follow the instructions on the medicine label if you are using this medicine without a prescription. Take doses exactly as instructed.
If this medicine is prescribed by a doctor, follow the doctor’s instructions.
The bottle does not need to be shaken before measuring a dose.
Use a calibrated measuring device to measure each dose. Don’t guess at the measurement or use tableware.
Store Ninjacof at room temperature.
What to do if you miss a dose of Ninjacof
Doses should be taken six to eight hours apart.
If a dose is missed, take it when remembered. Do not take another dose until six to eight hours later.
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
Ninjacof contraindications
Although Ninjacof can be purchased and used without a prescription, some people should not take it.
Ninjacof is not safe to take if you are also taking a prescription drug called a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI).
Ninjacof warnings
Tell any doctor or other healthcare provider who treats you that you are using this medicine.
Before using Ninjacof, talk to a doctor if you have:
Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should talk to a doctor before using Ninjacof.
Do not give Ninjacof to a child younger than six years old except under the advice of a doctor.
This medicine may make you very drowsy. Avoid driving, using machines, or doing anything else that could be dangerous if you are not alert.
Ninjacof can cause excitability in children.
Stop taking Ninjacof and call a doctor if:
Symptoms do not improve after 7 days
New symptoms appear, such as headache, fever, or rash
Side effects such as nervousness, dizziness, or insomnia are experienced
Ninjacof is sweetened with sucralose and comes in a cotton candy flavor to appeal to children. Keep it securely out of reach of children to prevent overdose.
In case of an overdose, get immediate medical help or call a poison helpline.
Ninjacof interactions
To avoid possible drug interactions, tell healthcare providers you are taking Ninjacof before they prescribe any new medications.
Ninjacof can cause serious side effects if combined with MAO inhibitors. MAOIs must be stopped for at least 14 days before Ninjacof is safe to take. If you’re unsure about what you’re taking, find a list of MAO inhibitors here.
Ninjacof can make you drowsy. Some people may get excessively drowsy when taking Ninjacof. Do not use any other medicines that make you sleepy, such as sleeping pills, narcotic pain relievers, and sedatives.
