Sernivo is a prescription drug commonly used to treat inflammation and itching caused by a variety of skin conditions such as eczema or plaque psoriasis. Betamethasone, the active ingredient in Sernivo reduces swelling, itching, and redness that usually occurs with plaque psoriasis and other irritable skin conditions. This ingredient essentially works by preventing the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation.
Before using this prescription medication be sure to inform your healthcare provider about any other medicines that you may be taking, whether prescription or over-the-counter. Your healthcare provider should also know if you have thinning skin around the application area.
