Symproic is usually prescribed to treat constipation in adults taking opioids for long-term chronic pain that is not caused by cancer. Symproic has not been approved for use in persons younger than 18 years old. Symproic may be habit-forming so you should not share your medication with anyone.
You should not use Symproic if you are allergic to any of its active ingredients (naldemedine tosylate), have a stomach or intestinal disorder, a stomach ulcer, or have liver disease.
Before using Symproic you should tell your healthcare providers about all your medical conditions and medications you are using, including herbal supplements, over-the-counter treatments, and vitamins. Providing this list of medications will help to avoid drug interactions or adverse effects associated with Symproic.
