Theratears is a brand-name family of over-the-counter products that help relieve the symptoms of dry eye. These products include lubricating eye drops and nighttime gel medications, eyelid and eyelash cleaners, and an omega 3 fatty acid dietary supplement.
Theratears Dry Eye Therapy is a product line of lubricating eye drops, or artificial tears, and a nighttime liquid gel. The active ingredient in all these products is carboxymethylcellulose, a common lubricant and protectant found in artificial tears eye drops. For patients whose eyes are irritated by preservatives, Theratears Dry Eye Therapy includes a preservative-free version.
