It works by stimulating the testicles to release testosterone in men and stimulates the ovaries to release estrogen in women.
This medication comes in the form of a subcutaneous implant. It is administered by a healthcare professional by injection under the skin of the lower abdomen below the navel. This implant slowly releases hormones into the body and will be completely absorbed into the body over weeks or months.
