Vraylar is an antipsychotic medication used to treat bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and major depressive disorder.
Medicaid, Medicare Part D, and commercial insurance companies cover Vraylar, but coverage may vary.
A SingleCare Vraylar coupon, the Vraylar copay card, and the Vraylar patient assistance program are three ways to save on Vraylar.
Vraylar (cariprazine) is an antipsychotic medication used to treat certain mental health conditions, such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and major depressive disorder. Its active ingredient, cariprazine, works by rebalancing serotonin and dopamine levels to improve mood, behavior, and thinking. Vraylar can be expensive, with an average retail price of $2,119 per 30-day supply. However, there are ways to get Vraylar at a discount or even for free, including coupons, copay cards, and the Vraylar patient assistance program.

Does insurance cover Vraylar?
Vraylar is covered by many health insurance plans, usually without requiring prior authorization or step therapy. Your insurance company or pharmacist can help confirm your Vraylar copay amount. The out-of-pocket cost is unpredictable. Many insurance plans place Vraylar in higher copay tiers, so the copay may be high.
Does Medicare cover Vraylar?
Medicare Part D drug plans and Medicare Advantage plans with drug coverage usually cover Vraylar. Again, most patients can get approval without prior authorization or step therapy. Contact your Medicare prescription coverage provider to verify how much you’ll be expected to pay for Vraylar.
Those who qualify for a Medicare Low Income Subsidy (LIS) might be able to get a month’s supply of Vraylar at a steep discount with Medicare’s Extra Help program.

SingleCare Vraylar coupon
While a monthly supply of 1.5 mg Vraylar capsules could cost you upwards of $2,119 at retail price, you can pay $1,445 with a SingleCare Vraylar coupon. You can use a SingleCare discount whether you have insurance or not. You just can’t combine it with insurance to pay for your prescription.
In some cases, a SingleCare discount might give you a better price than the out-of-pocket cost with insurance coverage, especially if you are experiencing a coverage gap. Just have your pharmacy run the SingleCare Vraylar coupon to see how the costs compare before you decide.
Members save even more by signing up, and it’s free. Regular purchases accumulate greater savings on future refills or purchases.

VRAYPAY savings card
With VRAYPAY, also known as the Vraylar savings card, eligible commercially insured patients may pay as little as $0 for 30- or 90-day fills. For patients who are also taking an antidepressant along with Vraylar, the VRAYPAY savings program can also reduce the out-of-pocket cost of a generic antidepressant to $0.
The $0 out-of-pocket cost is not guaranteed. Out-of-pocket costs can vary for VRAYPAY, and a maximum savings limit applies. This savings program isn’t available to those using Medicare, Medicaid, or other federal or state healthcare programs.
To apply for a VRAYPAY card, go to the Vraylar website to enroll. Patients can also enroll by texting an automated text application. See the Vraylar website for details.
Vraylar patient assistance
AbbVie also offers financial help through myAbbVie Assist, its overarching patient assistance program portal for medications that it manufactures. The program offers free prescription medications to eligible patients with limited or no health insurance coverage.
That said, if you do have insurance, it might still be worth applying. AbbVie can assess your eligibility based on your household income, insurance coverage, and your out-of-pocket medical expenses.
To qualify for myAbbVie Assist, you must live in the United States and meet its income criteria.
You can apply for myAbbVie Assist online at the myAbbVie Assist website or by fax or mail.
Why is Vraylar so expensive?
Vraylar is expensive because it’s a brand-name prescription medication with no generic substitute. “When drugs get approved by the Food and Drug Administration after clinical research, the manufacturing company usually retains full rights to produce that drug for a certain number of years, usually 15 to 20,” says Ndidi Ihim, Pharm.D. “During this time, they try to recoup their investments and everything they have put into making the drug available. After that, other companies can make it generic and have it available to the public.”
Those patent rights will expire sometime in 2029. That may not affect the price of Vraylar, but patients will have the option of substituting a lower-priced generic version of Vraylar.
