The active ingredients in Capmist DM are dextromethorphan, guaifenisin, and pseudoephedrine. Dextromethorphan is an opioid-like drug that reduces coughing by slowing down the part of the brain that causes coughing. Guaifenisin belongs to a class of drugs called expectorants, which reduce nasal and airway congestion by loosening the mucus that builds up inside the airways. Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant that reduces nasal swelling.
