Chlorzoxazone is a medication used to treat muscle spasms and pain. Chlorzoxazone belongs to a class of drugs called centrally acting muscle relaxants. Chlorzoxazone is a generic medication also sold under the brand names Lorzone and Parafon. This drug has been available for years. In the treatment of muscle spasms and pain, chlorzoxazone use is fairly common.

Uses
  • Treats pain and stiffness caused by muscle spasm. This medicine is a muscle relaxer.
  • This medicine is not right for everyone. Do not use it if you had an allergic reaction to chlorzoxazone.
Directions
  • You may swallow the tablets whole, or you may crush the tablets and mix them with a small amount of food or liquid.
  • Missed dose: Take a dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, wait until then and take a regular dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up for a missed dose.
