The chances of developing this condition increase as you age, after menopause, or if you are using corticosteroid medication, such as prednisone, for a longer time. Fosamax Plus D is a combination of alendronate and cholecalciferol. These two drugs work together to slow bone loss and to help your body absorb more calcium.
Fosamax Plus D is an FDA-approved medication that comes in the form of an oral tablet. This medication is usually taken once per week unless otherwise advised by your doctor. Use this medication with breakfast in the morning. Take it with a full glass of water. Swallow the tablet whole, do not chew or suck on it. Stay fully upright for at least 30 minutes after taking this medication.
