What is Levicyn?
Levicyn antipruritic gel is a hypochlorous acid (HOCl) based solution used for wound care. It is also for the relief of itch, irritation, and pain from all types of dermal wounds, skin sores, injuries, and ulcers of the skin. Hypochlorous acid is used in a weak form and acts as a disinfectant in the Levicyn solution.
This topical prescription product belongs to a drug class called skin barrier emollients. Emollients are non-cosmetic moisturizers that come in the form of creams, ointments, lotions, and spray gels. They keep the skin moist and flexible, helping to prevent cracks and itching.
Levicyn antimicrobial dermal spray should only be used as directed by your doctor or healthcare provider. It should not be used to treat any condition other than what your doctor prescribed it for. Levicyn should only be used externally and never inserted into the mouth, ear, nose, or genital area.
