The active ingredients in Rynex DM are brompheniramine, guaifenesin, and dextromethorphan. Brompheniramine is a decongestant that reduces the swelling of blood vessels in the nose. Guaifenesin belongs to a class of drugs called expectorants, which reduce nasal and airway congestion by loosening the mucus that builds up inside the airways.
