Dupixent (dupilumab) is a brand-name prescription drug approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat a wide range of medical conditions. Healthcare providers may prescribe the injectable medicine for moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (eczema), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, eosinophilic esophagitis, prurigo nodularis (PN), chronic rhinosinusitis, and others. “It is used to treat chronic inflammatory conditions by blocking specific proteins that control certain inflammatory pathways,” says Morris Nejat, MD, a physician specializing in adult and pediatric allergy and immunology, and medical director at NY Allergy and Sinus Centers in New York City. “Dupixent is administered by subcutaneous injection. It can be administered with a syringe or with an autopen.”

Currently, there is no generic form of Dupixent available, and even when patent protections expire a biosimilar would be what becomes available given this is a biologic medication made from living cells. The cost of this specialty medicine can range from $0 to $5,000 or more, depending on insurance coverage.

Prescription drug prices often change. These are the most accurate medication prices at the time of publishing in ZIP code 23666 as of December 03, 2025. The listed price without insurance references the price of brand-name drugs (unless otherwise specified). The listed SingleCare price references the price of generic drugs if available.

“The costs are largely set by the pharmaceutical companies,” says Purvi Parikh, MD, FACP, FACAAI, a board-certified pediatric allergist and immunologist with the Allergy & Asthma Network in New York City. “These costs are determined by several factors, including research, development costs, and manufacturing costs.” The dosage of Dupixent, your health insurance plan (and its drug formulary), and preferred pharmacy can also influence how much you pay for the prescription drug.

Is Dupixent covered by insurance?

Most commercial insurance plans and Medicare plans will cover Dupixent. “Dupixent is typically covered by insurance after a prior authorization is done,” Dr. Nejat says. Prior authorization (PA) is a process in which your healthcare provider must receive approval from your insurance provider that a certain medical service or medication is medically necessary for your health.

For Medicare beneficiaries, if they have a Part D prescription drug plan, they’ll have coverage for Dupixent. According to the manufacturers of Dupixent, Sanofi and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc., about 79% of Medicare Part D recipients pay between $0-$100 per month for Dupixent, with 21% paying more than $100 per month.

How to get Dupixent without insurance

If you don’t currently have health insurance, here are some ways you can save money on your prescription:

1. Use a SingleCare discount card

A SingleCare discount card can help you save money on Dupixent and other drugs regardless of whether you have commercial insurance, Medicare, or are uninsured. In fact, you can save up to 80% on your prescription drugs, without any fees, premiums, or exclusions to worry about.

If you’re paying the full price of a month’s supply of Dupixent, using a SingleCare discount card can drop the average list price of the medication from $5,393 for 2, 2 ml of 300 mg/2 ml pens, to $3,785 at Walgreens Pharmacy for the same form, dosage, and quantity.

To get the discount, visit Dupixent’s coupon page, choose your preferred pharmacy, and print out or download the coupon to your phone or tablet. You’ll show this coupon to your pharmacist to get your discount.

2. Explore patient assistance programs

Dupixent has a patient support program to help patients access financial assistance, nursing support, and more for people who are uninsured, functionally uninsured, or have experienced a gap in or loss of insurance. If eligible, you’ll be paired with a Dupixent MyWay case manager, who will help you explore your options for covering the cost of your prescription.

To be enrolled in this program, you’ll need to meet eligibility requirements, such as U.S. residency and a certain household income.

You or your healthcare provider can call 1-844-387-4936 (option 1) or visit the Dupixent website to learn more about this program.

Dupixent MyWay isn’t the only program that can help lower the cost of Dupixent. “There are patient assistance programs that provide free drugs,” Dr. Parikh says. You can find many of these programs through resources like NeedyMeds or the Patient Advocate Foundation.

3. Consider state programs

Several states have State Pharmaceutical Assistance Programs (SPAPs), which help residents pay for prescription drugs. Some states will offer wraparound prescription drug coverage for Medicare Part D, helping cover patients’ out-of-pocket costs that the health plan may not cover.

You’ll first want to check that your state has a SPAP, see if you meet the eligibility requirements, and then apply online, by mail, or in person, depending on your state’s processes.

4. Find a Dupixent alternative

With guidance from your healthcare provider, you can lower the cost of Dupixent treatment by exploring alternative options. Aside from costs, switching medications can be especially beneficial if you’re experiencing adverse effects such as allergic reactions or injection site reactions, or have concerns about drug interactions.

Here are some treatment substitutes that may be more affordable than Dupixent:

Before switching medications, please consult with your healthcare provider for professional medical advice to avoid serious side effects or interactions.

Dr. Parikh adds that some healthcare providers may offer free samples of Dupixent, but restrictions may apply to obtaining them. You can call your provider’s office or discuss it with them during your next appointment to learn about your options.
