Actonel is an FDA-approved prescription medication used to treat and prevent osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and people with glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis. Actonel comes in the form of an oral tablet that is usually taken with a full glass of water 30 minutes before the first meal of the day.
