Fabrazyme is an intravenous powder for injection that is used by both adults and children to manage symptoms associated with Fabry’s disease. Fabrazyme reduces the growth of globotriaosylceramide which can cause kidney and heart problems.

Fabrazyme contraindications

  • This medicine is not right for everyone. Do not use it if you had an allergic reaction to agalsidase.

  • Your doctor might give you a medicine to prevent fever before you receive your treatment.

  • Fever or chills, or feeling cold

  • Rash on your body, or redness, pain, or swelling where the IV is given

  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have a history of heart problems.

  • Unusual tiredness

  • Stomach pain

  • Pain in your arms or legs

  • Swelling of your lips or ears

  • Stomach pain

  • Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing

  • Chest pain, fast or uneven heartbeat, trouble breathing, dizziness

  • Fever or chills, or feeling cold

  • Unusual tiredness

  • Mild nausea or vomiting

  • Muscle, bone, back, or joint pain

  • Ringing in your ears
