What is Larin Fe?
Larin Fe is a generic version of ethinyl estradiol/norethindrone, a prescription birth control pill for women. Ethinyl estradiol is a naturally-occurring estrogen hormone, norethindrone a progestin hormone. Taken throughout the month, these hormones prevent ovulation, the monthly release of an egg from the ovaries. They also change the linings of the cervix and uterus. These changes impede the movement of sperm and prevent a fertilized egg from implanting on the uterine wall.
Larin Fe is taken in a 28-day sequence. It is a “monophasic” oral contraceptive, that is, the dosage never changes for 21 days in the 28-day sequence.
