Evamist is an FDA-approved prescription medication. It is a transdermal (application of medicine to the skin) spray of estrogen that is used as a hormone replacement that treats symptoms that women experience while going through menopause like hot flashes.
Evamist's spray applicator is applied by pumping a small dose onto the skin. Evamist is designed to be sprayed on the inner forearm only. Other skin surfaces have not been studied. It takes about 2 minutes for Evamist to dry, and once dried, the active ingredients are then absorbed. Evamist spray medication should not be used unless prescribed by a doctor. You should wash your hands well before and after use.
It should be stored at room temperature away from heat and moisture.
Some, but not all, of the side effects caused by Evamist, include mood changes, breast pain, headache, vaginal itching, bleeding or discharge, changes in menstruation, thinning of scalp hair, nausea and vomiting, bloating, or stomach cramps. If you experience other side effects, you should talk to your doctor right away.
